Here we are with a new Gaming Rig, as the title suggests, today we propose a PC completely based on AMD products, trying to select the components even according on their color, trying to recall the RED color.
Why a full AMD PC? Well not everyone likes the BLUE or GREEN, and just as a curiosity, did anyone notice that the social colors of AMD, Nvidia and Intel are the RGB colors???... Enough said, let’s go straight to the components, as always, picked thanks to the help of PcPartpicker.
Let’s see the chosen parts in details.
As for the CPU we went with an FX-8350, an 8 core with 4.0GHz and 4.2GHz in boost and unlocked multiplier, as all the AMD CPUs.
Even if a little old as architecture this CPU is capable of excellent performances in game, moreover the 8 cores come in handy if you are heavy multitasking users.
The chosen motherboard is the MSI 990FXA-Gaming, a solid motherboard with a good quality/price ratio. As the CPU the chipset and socket are a bit old but this model has modern features, as 3.1 USB ports, Ethernet KILLER Lan E2200, Crossfire and SLI compatibility and so on.
The memories picked for this set up are the Kingstone Savage, a 16GB DDR3 kit at a frequency of 2400MHz.
Those are excellent RAMs, with good overclock results, moreover the heatsink is low profile and it goes well with our color scheme.
As CPU cooler we went with an AIO kit, the Raijintek TRITON.
This liquid cooler comes with a 240mm aluminum radiator, transparent tubes, CPU block and a pump with see-through integrated reservoir and contact base in nickel-plated copper. The choice went on this model because it’s possible to color the cooling liquid through the dye flasks that come in the box in Red, Green or Blue. Again RGB… “Illuminati confirmed”.
As for the storage we went again with a HDD and SSD combo, and again a 1TB WesternDigital caviar blue and a 250GB Samsung 850 EVO.
Obviously if you need more capacity you can go with bigger ones.
For the GPU we liked an Asus one, the R9 Fury STRIX DCU III.
We went with this one because lately the price of the Furys is going down and they have a great value for money, better than the FuryX and is one of the most available, at least here in Italy, furthermore the Asus heatsink can keep the Fiji GPU at optimal temperatures, plus the red and black color scheme is perfect for our “ALL RED” gaming rig.
To power everything we went again with a SuperNova G2 by EVGA, the 750W model. I find them great PSU at the right price.Features as the 100% Japanese capacitors Nippon Chemi-Con and the 10 years warranties, make these PSU often my first choice.
The case that best fit this rig is the Noctis 450 by NZXT. The layout is the one of the H440, with all its features, moreover in the black version, which I went for, mounts red leds under the case and in the NZXT logo on the PSU cover.

Eccoci qua con una nuova Gaming Rig, come da titolo, oggi vi propongo un PC interamente basato su prodotti di casa AMD cercando di selezionare i componenti anche in base al loro colore, ovviamente richiamando il ROSSO.
Perché un PC full AMD? beh.. perché non a tutti piacciono il BLU ed il VERDE, tra l'altro non so se abbiate mai notato che i colori sociali di AMD, Nvidia e Intel, sono i colori RGB???... ok bando alle ciance passiamo alle componenti, come sempre, selezionate con l'ausilio di PcPartpicker.
Passiamo quindi a vedere le scelte nel dettaglio.
Per CPU abbiamo scelto un FX-8350, un 8 core con clock di 4.0 GHz e 4.2GHz in boost e moltiplicatore sbloccato, come tutte le CPU di AMD.
Se pur datata come architettura, questa CPU è capace di ottime prestazioni in game, inoltre gli 8 core tornano davvero comodi se siete dei fanatici del multitasking.
Come scheda madre ho scelto la MSI 990FXA-Gaming, una scheda solida con un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Come per la CPU il chipset ed il socket sono ovviamente un po datati ma questo modello ha features moderne come le porte USB 3.1, porte ethernet KILLER Lan E2200, compatibilità Crossfire ed SLI ecc ecc.
Per le memorie ho scelto le Kingstone Savage, un kit da 16GB DDR3 a 2400MHz di frequenza.
Sono delle ottime memorie, si prestano bene per l'overclock, inoltre il dissipatore è low profile e si sposa bene con il nostro tema di colorazione.
Come CPU cooler, stavolta ho scelto un kit AIO, ovvero il Raijintek TRITON.
Questo dissipatore si presenta con un radiatore da 240mm in alluminio, tubi trasparenti, blocco CPU e pompa con reservoir trasparente integrato e base di contatto in rame nichelato. La scelta è ricaduta su questo modello in quanto è possibile colorare il liquido refrigerante interno tramite le boccette di colorante presenti nella confezione coi colori Rosso, Verde o Blu.
Ancora RGB..."Illuminati confirmed".
Per quanto riguarda lo storage, ho scelto ancora la combo HDD ed SSD ed ancora una volta un western digital caviar blue da 1TB ed un Samsung 850 EVo da 250GB.
Ovviamente se avete necessità di maggiore capienza potete prenderne di più grandi.
Per la scheda grafica ho scelto un modello Asus, ovvero la R9 Fury STRIX DCU III.
Ho scelto questo modello perché ultimamente il prezzo delle Fury si sta abbassando ed hanno un rapporto prezzo/prestazioni migliore delle FuryX ed è uno dei più reperibili, almeno per noi in Italia, inoltre il dissipatore Asus riesce a mantenere la GPU Fiji a temperature ottimali e la livrea rossa e nera è perfetta per la scelta di colori della nostra gaming rig.
Per alimentare il tutto ho scelto ancora una volta il SuperNova G2 di EVGA, il modello da 750W. Trovo siano PSU di ottima qualità ed al giusto prezzo.Features come 100% di condensatori giapponesi Nippon Chemi-Con e 10 anni di garanzia fanno di queste PSU, quasi sempre, la mia primissima scelta.
Come Case ho scelto il Noctis 450 di NZXT. Il layout è quello del H440, quindi riprende tutte le sue famose features, inoltre, nella versione nera che ho scelto, monta anche dei led rossi al di sotto del case e nel logo NZXT interno posto sulla cover per la PSU.
